Trump COVID-19 Watch

Washington, DC - Elizabeth Warren is continuing her oversight of the Trump Administration's COVID-19 response. Over 176,000 Americans have died and unemployment rates remain at the highest levels in decades. President Donald Trump's failure to lead has allowed the virus to spread and put millions of Americans' lives and livelihoods at risk.

Senators Warren and Blumenthal and Representative Jayapal obtained and released troubling new information on evasion of federal conflict of interest rules by Dr. Moncref Slaoui, top advisor to the Trump Administration's COVID-19 "Operation Warp Speed."

Senator Warren requested that the CARES Act Oversight Committee investigate the Trump Administration's decision to award Kodak a $765 Million contract, raising questions about corruption, nepotism, and mismanagement in the Trump administration's COVID-19 response.

Senators Warren and Markey demanded answers from EPA Administrator Wheeler on the agency's suspension of environmental enforcement during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Senators Warren, Smith, and Murphy called on HHS and CDC to require "complete, transparent, and timely national reporting of COVID-19 cases" on college campuses.

Senator Warren and Representative Tlaib questioned college housing developer Corvias on why it was prioritizing profits over students' health and safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

UPCOMING: Senator Warren will be raising fresh concerns about the politicization of the Trump Administration's COVID-19 response, including the FDA's decision to issue an Emergency Use Authorization for convalescent plasma as a treatment for COVID-19.
