SASC Democrats Elizabeth Warren and Jeanne Shaheen are demanding an explanation for why DOD officials are using a Navy logistics contracting initiative to help fast-track migrant detention centers for DHS, which they said is an improper deployment of the program.

The pair, in a letter to Hegseth sent Sunday evening, asked for answers by April 13 on a series of questions surrounding the Worldwide Expeditionary Multiple Award Contract, a 5-year-old program designed to streamline purchases for naval sites by skipping the traditional contract bidding process.
