CORONAVIRUS: Paid Sick Leave

The CARES Act updates paid sick leave benefits that were included in earlier coronavirus response legislation (The Families First Coronavirus Response Act). Some employers with fewer than 500 employees are required to provide employees with 14 days of paid sick leave and up to 12 weeks of leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act. These provisions apply through December 31, 2020.

The Department of Labor has guidance and a FAQ for workers and employers explaining these new paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave benefits.

We will update this page as further programmatic details are available from federal agencies and to reflect the most current information about state and federal resources.
