Warren on Funding Bill: “I Refuse to Support Trump’s Chaos and Republicans Inflicting Higher Costs on Americans”
Washington, D.C. – Following her vote against proceeding to Republicans’ Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2026, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) released the following statement:
“While the Republicans shut down the government and refuse to even come to the table to make health care more affordable, I cannot in good conscience sign off on a bloated Pentagon spending bill. Democrats should not send a business-as-usual funding bill to this administration while Donald Trump and Russ Vought play king, illegally revoking funding for programs they don’t like and unlawfully firing thousands of federal workers. All of that is happening while Donald Trump sends our own military troops to occupy American cities.
“I voted no on this Republican funding bill because I refuse to support Trump’s chaos and Republicans inflicting higher costs on Americans.”
