Senator Warren asks about U.S. support for Saudi military operations in Yemen
For nearly three years, the United States has been selling weapons, refueling aircraft, and providing other support to Saudi Arabia for its military operations in Yemen. And yet – we aren't keeping track of where those U.S.-armed and refueled planes are going. As a result, we've given Saudi Arabia a blank check to bomb Yemen and worsen the country's humanitarian crisis, with tens of thousands of innocent civilians killed and many children starving. We need to hold our partners and allies accountable for using the weapons and other resources we provide them. That's why I cosponsored the Sanders-Lee resolution #SJRes54 that would stop U.S. involvement in the Saudi-led bombing campaign in Yemen unless Congress gives authorization.
