Warren, Markey say Trump’s policies cost state $8.6 billion in clean energy funding and more than 16,000 jobs

It’s no secret Trump-era policies are draining investments and jobs away from the clean tech sector in Massachusetts and other states. Now there is a tally of the economic damage.

A report from Senator Elizabeth Warren’s and Senator Ed Markey’s offices, released on Tuesday, shows that Massachusetts ranks second in lost or delayed clean energy jobs, behind Texas, and first in lost or delayed investments. The study estimates that 16,750 clean energy jobs and $8.6 billion in investments in Massachusetts have been lost or delayed since President Trump took office because of the administration’s direct actions or changes in policy pushed by Trump in last year’s tax package.
