Statement from Senator Warren on Impact of Trump Decision to End Federal Insurance Payments for Massachusetts

Washington, DC - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) today released the following statement after The Massachusetts Health Connector announced that average premiums for 2018 health insurance plans would increase by 18 percent as a result of President Trump's decision to end crucial federal insurance payments:

"President Trump's decision to cut off payments that help people afford health care is malicious - and today we learned that it will cause an 18 percent increase in insurance premiums in Massachusetts. This isn't what anyone in Massachusetts wanted, but President Trump is determined to gut the Affordable Care Act and do whatever he can to jack up prices for American families. Congress should act quickly to reverse his senseless decision."
