Senator Warren Announces 11 Year Old Activist Zev Dickstein as State of the Union Guest

Boston, MA – United States Senator Elizabeth Warren today announced that Zev Dickstein will accompany her to President Obama’s State of the Union address on January 28, 2014. At age nine, Dickstein started volunteering on political campaigns, and has remained active in his community, most recently serving as the campaign manager for a local school committee race.

“I am very pleased to have Zev joining me for the State of the Union," Senator Warren said. "He understands the importance of public service and getting involved in his community. Zev's passion is inspiring, and he is a glowing example of the impact young people can have on our communities and our country.”

“I’m so excited to experience the State of the Union address and be in Washington with my great Senator Elizabeth Warren," said Dickstein. "To me, it brings everything together because Senator Warren’s candidacy is what propelled me into politics and hers was the first campaign I was majorly involved in. Senator Warren continues to provide inspiration for my civic engagement, and I am looking forward to visiting the Capitol and hearing the President’s speech with her.”

Zev Dickstein is eleven years old and is in sixth grade at the Cambridge Street Upper School, where he participates in the math and debate teams. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts and has two younger brothers. Outside of school and work, Dickstein enjoys playing tennis and ping pong, spending time with his friends, and playing the violin and piano.
